I create presentations and workshops to meet your needs. These may focus on planning, management of interpretation, setting interpretive goals, evaluation, interpretive design, site themes and storylines, and much more.
I have a large repertoire of programs for conferences, workshops, and regional gatherings. These can be stand alone presentations, or a keynote presentation coupled with a two hour to half day workshop on topics such as the interpretation thinking process, managing interpretation, interpretive design for publications and exhibits, creating strong themes, 12 ways to build strong programs, 7 obligations of interpretation in the 21st century, seeking other voices – engaging all perspectives, and more.
Certified Interpretive Guide Training
The psychology behind interpretation and the concepts of presentation demonstrated in NAIs Certified Interpretive Guide training establish a firm foundation for success, plus, the tenets presented cross over from spoken interpretation to exhibits and publications, making CIG an invaluable asset to every interpreter, docent, tour guide, and manager. I always enjoy teaching this course.
Certified Interpretive Guide training has taken me across the country, and I love to travel. Recent locations have included Memphis, College of the Ozarks near Branson, Missouri, the Mississippi Agriculture Museum and living history site in Jackson, The Ozark Natural Science Center deep In the Ozarks, New Germany State Park in Maryland, the Nicandri Nature Center in upstate New York, and Mineral Wells State Park, Texas.
